This is to inform all UNN students that Course Registration for the Second Semester of the 2016/17 session has started.

The portal will be opened for Course Registration as follows:

Opening Date: 10th April, 2017.

Closing Date: 24th April, 2017.

Late Course Registration which attracts a penalty of N500 begins on 25th April, 2017 and Closes on 8th May, 2017.

Any student who fails to register within this time frame is deemed to have forfeited this semester.

The Registrar will not condone any letter seeking for permission to register courses after this stipulated deadline.

The Nigerian Journal of Management Research (NJMR) now accepts submissions for its July 2017 Issue. The Journal is a peer-reviewed journal that enriches understanding of the past, current and future issues relevant to the area of Business Administration. The articles shall address any research on theoretical and empirical questions about Business Administration. The Topics addressed within the journal include Banking and Finance, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Business communication, Marketing communication, ICTs Accounting, Insurance, Psychology, and other various related sub-fields. NJMR expects that the articles encourage debate, controversy, new understanding, solid theory, and reflection on issues of Business Administration. The articles sent should have a sharp analysis and rigorous methodologies quantitative or qualitative as well as written in an engaging and analytical style.



Submission Deadline: May 30th, 2017.

Publication Date: 27th June, 2017.



GUIDE FOR AUTHORS

1. All papers must be scholarly, original, well researched and well referenced.
2. They should border on management or management related fields (e.g. Banking and Finance, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Business communication, Marketing communication, ICTs Accounting, Insurance and Psychology).
3. They must not have been submitted or intended to be submitted to any other academic professional journal for publication.
4. They should be typed, double spaced and submitted in MS-word format to the email: management.businessadministration@unn.edu.ng
5.The first page of the manuscript should contain the following:
Title of the Article

Name and relevant particulars of the Author(s)

An abstract of the Article (not more than 100 words). ABSTRACT IS MANDATORY



6. The text of the article should then begin on page 2 below the title. In order to preserve anonymity in review and/or blind refereeing, please do not put the name(s) of Authors on this page or anywhere else in the text.
7. References should be cited in the text, using the APA version 6 style and listed in alphabetical order (surname first) on separate page at the end of the article.
8. Copies of Maps, charts etc, should be submitted in a form suitable for reproduction in the normal size of the journal.

FACULTY/DEPARTMENTAL ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS ADMITTED IN 2016/2017 SESSION


In accordance with the revised 2016/2017 Time Table of Events of the School of Postgraduate Studies, the Faculties, Departments and Institutes/Centres are required to organize orientation programmes for their fresh postgraduate students admitted in the 2016/2017  session on 24th April, 2017.

 Concept Note:

The orientation programme should be designed to familiarise the newly admitted students with the University and its postgraduate programmes.  It should also provide a forum to enlighten the students on the postgraduate rules/regulations, and introduce them to the available facilities/ resources at Departmental and Faculty levels.  Furthermore, the students are to be exposed to motivational ideas that will make for successful studentship in the University of Nigeria.

 Programme of the Orientation:

 24th April, 2017: 8a.m – 10a.m – Orientation at the Departmental Level

–   8.00a.m – 8.05 a.m:    Opening Prayer.

–   8.05a.m – 8.20 a.m :   Head of Department’s Address

–   8.20a.m – 8.40 a.m:    Departmental Postgraduate Co-Ordinators’ Address

–   8.40a.m – 9.00 a.m:    Response Speeches/Questions from Students

–   9.00a.m – 9.20 a.m:    Showing students round the Departmental teaching and

–   9.20a.m – 10.00 a.m:  research resources/facilities.

–  10.00a.m – 10.05 a.m: Closing prayer

–  10.05a.m – 11.00 a.m: Orientation continues at the Faculty.



24th April, 2017: 2.00p.m – 4.00p.m – Orientation at the Faculty Level

–  2.00 p.m – 2.05 p.m:     Opening Prayer.

–  2.05 p.m – 2.20 p.m:     An Address by Dean of Faculty

–  2.20 p.m – 2.40 p.m:     Address by the Immediate Past Dean of the Faculty or another

–  2.40 p.m – 3.00 p.m:    Senior  Academic in the Faculty.

–   3.00 p.m – 3.20 p.m:   Responses from students.

–   3.20 p.m – 4.00 p.m:   Tour of Faculty facilities, especially the Faculty Library.


Heads of Department and Deans of Faculty are enjoined to ensure that the orientation programmes in their Departments and Faculties are executed and implemented in accordance with the above schedule.  Please, inform all who will address the students during the orientation programme in good-time to enable them prepare their talks.
